Second Grade Teacher

    Hi, my name is Sara and I am very excited to be teaching the second grade class in the fall. The first time I knew I wanted to be a teacher was about 8 years ago when I was teaching a Sunday school class of 6 year olds. Since then I have been working with children through my education at Portland State University and working as a nanny while in school. I received my B.S. in General Studies/Social Sciences in August 2000. I then went through the graduate teaching program at Portland State University and received my teaching certificate in early childhood and elementary in March of 2003. Lastly, I received my Masters in Education at Portland State in August of 2003.
  Working with children has always been a passion of mine and I feel it is the most important job there is. I believe that if children are blessed with a teacher who truly cares and loves them they will learn and grow at their best possible ability. I believe that the early childhood and elementary years are the most important years for building and shaping our children for their future as adults.
   I am very excited to be working with your children and my goal is to make a positive impact on your children during their elementary school years.
