Our mission is to provide an exceptional level
of nurturing, education and developmental opportunities for
children ages 3 months through elementary school, while maintaining
the highest level of safety, nutrition and parental communication
by our educated and experienced staff.
We
provide an environment that cultivates long term enrollment.
This planned environment is a natural, gentle community that
fosters individual development. From birth it is a child’s
“job” to create knowledge based on observing,
wondering, theorizing, and then testing and revising their
theories. As educators we believe that young children learn
best in a Christian environment that fosters learning through
self-discovery and hypothesizing. Written observations, anecdotes,
and video recordings enable the staff to carefully plan an
environment and opportunities that are developmentally appropriate.
Our preschool through Kindergarten children assist in the
planning of their curriculum. Additionally, The Children’s
Hour Academy offers American Sign Language, music, drama,
art, and field trips. These experiences enrich their lives
by stretching their minds and bodies. These activities - integrated
within the school’s program - are a natural component
to learning.
Children
are priceless assets. The Children’s Hour Academy staff
are professional teachers committed to the development of
children. Our college educated teachers are experienced professionals
trained in child development, theory, and practice. Each room,
from infant educaring through Kindergarten, has a college
educated professional teacher. Each assistant teacher has
training in the Early Childhood field. All of our staff participate
in continuing education in both American Sign Language and
Early Childhood Education. We view this as an important component
of their professional development. Our staff introduces the
children to American Sign Language in a very natural way.
Both hearing and deaf children benefit from this “foreign”
language immersion program. Our goal is to bond with the children
and their family as an extension of your family unit. To borrow
a phrase from ´Everyday Blessings:The Inner Work of
Mindful Parenting´ “Children embody what is best
in life. They live in the present moment. They are part of
its exquisite bloom. They are pure potentiality, embodying
vitality, emergence, renewal, and hope. They are purely what
they are. And they share that vital nature with us and call
it out of us as well, if we can listen carefully to the calling.”

and our goal is to create the environment that fosters this
philosophy.
The
Children’s Hour Academy opens at 7:00 a.m. and closes
at 6:00 p.m. The Children’s Hour Academy is structured
as a full day program. Our school accommodates both hearing
